Trust Accounting and Auditing Seminar - Level II

This seminar expands in more detail on the subjects covered in the Level I seminar. By means of a practical case studies and examples to illustrate the points being covered, the seminar shall:
- Review different accounting policies for investments (e.g. average cost) and assess the impact on recorded profits
- Review the contents of underlying company accounts, using a practical case study as an example
- Review “inter-entity” balances between the trust and underlying company
- Overview of how to consolidate a trust and underlying company
- Review cashflow v balance sheet insolvency
- Analysing the investment line in the financial statements
- Give a practical example of how trust accounts and tax numbers can differ
- Review of different audit reports
Who will benefit from the Trust Accounting Seminar?
The seminar is for employees of trustees who wish to improve their understanding of trust accounts, and how to drive value from trust audits. The seminar will be held in English.
SPEAKER CV
Andrew is a TEP and is trustee on various UHNW family trusts. He also leads a portfolio of accounting mandates for other trustees. He is a Chartered Accountant (ICAS) and a registered auditor in Switzerland.
Andrew spends a significant of amount of time on voluntary activities, for example, he is Chair of the Swiss and Liechtenstein STEP Federation (2018-present), is Chair of the STEP Worldwide Professional Standards Committee, and is Treasurer and Committee member of both STEP Geneva and the Swiss Association of Trust Companies. Previously he was a Governing Board member, and Chair of the Audit and Risk Commission, of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, as well as being a member of the STEP Worldwide Governance Committee. He is a regular publisher of articles and speaker at conferences, and holds a MBA.
He has been co-organisor of the STEP Switzerland and Liechtenstein Alpine Conference held annually in Interlaken since its inception.
