Bernard is a graduate of Geneva Law School (Lic.Jur., 1972) and Berkeley University Law School (Master of Laws, 1977). He was admitted to the Geneva Bar in 1975

He worked in Boston, Mass. with the law firm of Palmer & Dodge then, from 1977, with the Geneva firm of Lachenal Brechbuhl Cottier Roguet, where he bacame a partner in 1982. In 2001 that firm merged with Pestalozzi, Gmuer & Patry and the combined firms now practice under the name of Pestalozzi Lachenal Patry

Bernard’s practice areas are corporate and commercial law, contractual negotiations, commercial litigation, banking law, trusts and estates. His professional languages are French, English and some German
